Ingredients

  • Ginger

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the ginger.
Rinse the ginger under cool running water. Gently rub the peel to remove any dirt or debris. Dry with a clean towel.
  • Peel and mince the ginger.
Remove the peel with a vegetable peeler. Mince the ginger by cutting it into tiny pieces.
  • Put the ginger in a freezer-safe bag.
Spread the ginger into an even layer in the bag. Push out extra air and close to seal.
  • Store in the freezer.
Freeze for 1 or 2 hours, or until the ginger is frozen into a sheet. Use within 6 months.

Notes

  • Choose ginger with firm, smooth skin. Avoid ones that are dry, wrinkly, or moldy.
  • If you don't have a vegetable peeler, use the edge of a spoon to remove the skin.
  • Don't overfill the bag because this can make it hard to close.
  • Remember that a 1.5"x1.5" piece of frozen minced ginger equal about one tablespoon.
